Ackeem Auguste At The Helm For WI Rising Stars 2022 U19 Glory Quest!

Ackeem Auguste, the lefthanded
middle-order batsman
will lead the West Indies Rising
Stars U19s 15-member squad and five
reserves for the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket
World Cup to be played in the West
Indies in January-February 2022.
Allrounder Giovonte Depeiza, will serve
as Auguste’s vice-captain for the January
14 – February 5, 2022 tournament.

They were also at the helm during the
six-match Youth One-Day International
Series in England in September. The
final West Indies U19 World Cup squad
was selected following a recent high
performance camp and preparation
matches at Antigua’s Coolidge Cricket
Ground, which featured 28 players all
together.

The West Indies Rising Stars U19s
have been drawn in Group D alongside
Australia, Scotland and Sri Lanka for
the 16-team tournament which will be
played from January 14 to February 5.
Matches will be played in Antigua and
Barbuda, Trinidad and Tobago, St Kitts
and Nevis, and Guyana. Immediately
before the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket
World Cup, the West Indies Rising Stars were scheduled to
play a five-match, December 26 – January 3 warm-up Series
against South Africa’s U19s in St Vincent and the Grenadines
at the Arnos Vale Stadium and Cumberland Playing Field.
The West Indies 2022 ICC U19 World Cup Squad will be
as follows:

Anderson Amurdan, Nathan Edward, Andel Gordon, Vasant Singh, Kevin Wickham.
The West Indies Rising Stars will play their 2022 U19 World Cup Preliminary Round matches starting on January 14 – v Australia at Guyana National Stadium. The Rising Stars will then travel to St Kitts for
its remaing First Round matches against Scotland on January 17 and Sri Lanka, four days later on January 21.The Scotland match will be played at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium and that against Sri Lanka at Conaree Cricket Centre
