Narine Hopeful For West Indies 2023 T20 World Cup Sqaud Inclusion!

With over 400 T20s into his career, Sunil Narine
has been hailed by many as the greatest spin
bowler in the format. He has redefined the art
of T20 bowling with his variations and ability to reinvent
his role in teams. A T20 World Cup winner with West
Indies, and two-time IPL champion with Kolkata Knight
Riders, his career in recent years has been blighted by
questions over his action and threats of suspensions.

Narine’s appearances for the West Indies have,
however, been sporadic within recent years. Having
represented the West Indies in 6 Tests, 65 ODIs and 51
T20I.s Narine hasn’t donned west Indies colours since
August 2019 when he played against India in a T20I at
Guyana’s Providence National Stadium.

In a most recent interview with ESPNCricinfo Cricket
Monthly Writer Santokie Nagulendran, however, Narine
expressed his desire to represent the West Indies
again in the foreseeable future!

“There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff
going on, which I don’t really want to get
into, but I mean, everybody would love to
represent their country. It’s a hard thing
watching them knowing that you want to be
part of it and you’re not part of it. Things
happen for a reason and hopefully in the
future I’ll be wearing maroon again, but
until then, I’d still love to play for Windies.
We shall see when that opportunity comes,
but there will never be a no for West Indies!”
