Canadian College & University Cricket Back On The Move!

The Canadian College and University
Cricket (CCUC) is a not-for-profit organization
dedicated to providing post-secondary
students with a platform for participation, learning,
and success, all underpinned by strong leadership
and core values. CCUC aims to foster youth,
sportsmanship, excellence, and professionalism
on and off the field. The organization has enabled
students to develop in cricket while maintaining
their commitment to education. With a strong belief
in promoting cricket as a means of community
cohesion, CCUC aspires to be a prominent leader
within the Canadian cricketing community.

“As the world focuses on the ICC Men’s T20 World
Cup – West Indies & USA 2024, it is an honor to
acknowledge that many players in our national
Canadian Cricket roster are CCUC alumni,” stated
President Hassan Mirza. “These players, having
played as All-stars in various tournaments hosted
by CCUC, have significantly shaped the Canadian cricket
landscape. Now, they proudly represent the nation against
top-level athletes like Pat Cummins, Virat Kohli, and Babar
Azam on the highest stage in cricket.”

As the organization builds towards its goal of being a
prominent leader within the Canadian cricketing community,
it gears up for another exhilarating season with the kickoff of
its Summer League – 16 weeks of exciting T10 and T20 action
of men’s and women’s cricket. With two games already
completed, Brock University Badgers, Toronto Metropolitan
University, and Laurier University Golden Hawks have already
showcased their talents on the pitch.

In addition to all other events planned for the summer,
CCUC will close the cricketing season with its annual
men’s and women’s National Big Bash flagship tournament
in September. This event promises to be a spectacular
celebration of cricket and Canadian culture, bringing
people from all walks of life together.

CCUC continues to champion the growth and development
of cricket among Canadian students, remaining
firmly committed to its mission of nurturing excellence,
professionalism, and community cohesion through the sport.
The future of both men’s and women’s Canadian cricket
is bright and full of promise, thanks to CCUC’s unwavering
dedication and leadership.
