Captain Kraigg Leading By Example!

One century, two fifties, a Series highest
aggregate of 341 runs from 6 innings batted and
an average of 85.25. Those were West Indies
captain Kraigg Brathwaite’s statistics, at the conclusion
of the recently held three-Test Series between his team
and the visiting Joe Root led England. Brathwaite’s
statistics, which were unmatched by anyone on either
side, was just the latest evidence of the inclination to
lead by example that he’s seemingly embraced since his
was appointed as the West Indies Test captain.
Brathwaite’s 341 runs Series aggregate was some 62 runs
more than his nearest challenger, Joe Root, England’s
rival captain. Root, whose 289 runs scored from 6
innings batted at an average of 48.16 also contained two
centuries.
Brathwaite’s outstanding batting was a continuation of
the rich vein of form he’s enjoyed since the beginning
of last year. In the 13 innings he’s batted since his first
2021 Test, that was played from February 3-7
in Bangladesh and against that country’s
hosting National team, Brathwaite has
amassed from 13 innings batted at
an impressive 54.84 average. His
knocks have also included
two centuries (126, 160)
and three half-centuries
(76, 97, 55).
With further with the
West Indies next Test
Series encounter now
scheduled to be at home
against Bangladesh this coming
June, Brathwaite will be seeking
to continue to set the example for
the team’s other batsmen to follow.
