Alick Athanaze for possibly securing his selection as Brandon King’s opening partner for the West Indies’ forthcoming ODI Home Series against England. Athanaze has been among the leading run-scorers in
the ongoing edition of the Super50 Cup. The young lad has scored 276 runs in six games at an impressive average of 46. He was a vital cog in the Windward Islands’ batting lineup.
Sherfane Rutherford of Guyana is
another young middle-order batsman who
has now raised his bat for the Selectors’
consideration for the forthcoming ODI Series
against England. Rutherford scored 278 runs in the Super50 Cup 2023 and sat
impressively at number 5 on the list of the tournament’s
highest run-scorers.
At the time of writing Nyeem Young of the West Indies
Academy had 12 scalps to his name in the
Super50 Cup 2023. As a former U19 player, Young’s
performances in this year’s Super50 have certainly
placed him in contention for a West Indies Senior
team selection in the very near future. Perhaps
even as soon as the forthcoming England Tour.
Hayden Walsh of Leeward Islands has
grabbed 13 wickets in five games in Super50 Cup
2023. Walsh’s returns as one of the tournament’s
leading wicket-takers should now revive his claims
for West Indies team selection. Just turned 31 he is
still relatively young with much to offer.

DARTS:
Former West Indies ODI playerKeswick Williams for his use of highly
inappropriate language while on tv
streaming commentary most recently.
Williams’ on-air description of a delivery was
“cock-height with pace!” What next?
Cricket West Indies for its non-use of
speed radar guns during this year’s ongoing
Regional Super50 tournament. In this day and
age when relaying the speed of deliveries
bowled is considered to be rudimentary to
provided live stream coverage it is appalling
that a tournament of such stature and
importance as this year’s Super50 should be
totally devoid of such a basic provision!
The 2023 Regional Super50 Lie
Stream Commentary team for overall
incompetence and demonstrated
mediocrity. Shoddy commentary, name
mispronunciations and incorrect grammar
have been far too often prevalent during
many of the match broadcasts.
