Cricket West Indies Masters Association
(CWIMA) continues their hectic 2022 schedule
by finalizing plans for their next international
O50s quadrangular tournament in England and Wales.
Hosts England play Wales, West Indies and India for
the Marlborough Cup. The 16-man squad along with
officials and guests wing out from several countries in
the Caribbean and North America on July 1st, 2022
and is expected to return home on Wednesday, July
13th, 2022.

The full squad reads: Zamin Amin- Captain, Rajendra Sadeo, Sudesh
Dhaniram, Kenny Girdharry, Fareed Hosein, Sunil
Dhaniram, Mark Audain, Vejai Seonarine, Narine
Bidhesi, Ishwar Maraj, Mohan Harihar, Azad
Mohammed, Imtiaz Ali, Balwant Roy Singh, Krishendat
Ramdat, Hafiz Mohamed. The Manager is Raj Singh
with Dave Narine as his Assistant.

The O50s World Cup is slated to be held in March
2023 in Cape Town, South Africa and this is another
series that is being used in preparation for this major
world event. Recently, both the O50s and the O60s
Windies Masters took part in the Champions Trophy tournament
in Houston, Texas where the O50s team were runners up to the USA
and the O60s team won the plate final with their squad severely
depleted by injuries sustained on tour.

Newly accredited ambassador to CWIMA, Colin Croft, turned out
for the O60s team but pulled up in his first match on tour with dual
hamstring injuries whilst bowling and showed tremendous courage
by appearing in the plate final for the WIndies O60s team. Crofty
is expected to again turn out for the O60s squad in their next
engagement at the O60s World Cup to be held in Queensland,
Australia from September 2nd to September 15th 2022 where
12 countries will be vying for top honors. CWIMA was also duly
constituted as a body on March 29th 2022 where it also launched
its inaugural WINDIES MASTERS CRICKETER 2022 magazine and
its website- www.windiesmasters.org.

CWIMA will play host to its inaugural O50s event called the
BIG MAN CRICKET CARIBBEAN CUP 2022 which will be held in
Barbados in November 2022 featuring 8 teams: West Indies, India,
USA, Canada, England, Wales, UAE and Windies President XI. This
event will be similar to a mini–World Cup and the organizers are
exploring the possibility of having select matches in the tournament
broadcasted on TV. It is widely expected that this tournament
could be the final preparation series prior to the O50s World Cup
in March 2023.
